Faces of Thérèse of Lisieux

We are lucky enough to keep 47 photographs of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.
These photos had been revealed to the general public by a book by Father François de Sainte-Marie, who, in 1961, had published a box of two books: Face of Therese of Lisieux. Our Carmelite brother from Lisieux, Didier-Marie GOLAY offers us an album which renews in a superb way these photos and their genesis.
After an introduction, opening on the problem of the "true face of Thérèse", that idealized by the paintings of Sister Geneviève, Céline, or that of the photographs requiring long exposure seconds at the time, this album presents the 47 photographs of Thérèse by putting them in their context. In addition, the enlargement of a detail of each photograph is associated with a text by Thérèse or a direct witness of her life. Thus image and text begin to dialogue and lead us on the path of the small way to the school of Thérèse.
